WHAT THE SELLERS LOVE ABOUT THEIR HOME
When we first found our home, we were immediately drawn to the kitchen, which is updated and spacious enough for a table. It also has stainless steel appliances, a dual sink and spacious counters for cooking. We also loved the finished basement and the size of the master bedroom. Also, our house backs to the woods, and we really liked the extra privacy, especially for a townhome. What we love about our home is the amount of space we have for a townhome. The extra bedroom and bathroom downstairs is great because we always have room for guests.
UPDATES TO NEW COUNTRY
New sliding glass doors on the main floor and basement.
Thompson creek gutters which come with a double lifetime guarantee (which means it carries over to the new buyer).
New Thompson Creek window above the front door (double lifetime guarantee).
New garbage disposal.
Bathroom tub upstairs and master bath were re-glazed.
New light fixtures and mirrors in all bathrooms.
Storage shed outside (including with house).
New storm door installed.
Our utility costs are pretty reasonable, especially considering everything is electric. Electric is BGE and averages $235/month. Water and sewer is combined through Howard County and averages $135 per quarter (every 3 months).
CONVENIENT AND ESTABLISHED NEIGHBORHOOD
In Clary's Forest, the neighborhood is great for walking, running, bike riding, etc. There are lots of trails around and is relatively light with traffic around the Little Patuxent circle. Great schools, lots to do, as my wife once joked when we first moved here "everything is in Columbia!" We love being central to many things in the area including: Merriweather and the Mall in Columbia within a few miles. Baltimore City is about 30 minutes away. D.C. about 45 minutes away and everything those respective cities have to offer.
Columbia also has many lakes and parks which are great for walking, picnicking, etc. We also like to go to county fairs and many are close. Annapolis is only about 30 minutes away as well. We love the Cheesecake Factory. We also like Grotto Pizza. The Melting Pot is nice for special occasions. All are very close. We use Safeway and Giant, both are only a few miles away. We moved to Howard County because our jobs were in Rockville and Baltimore, so it was central to both. There are also many things to do in the area and the schools are excellent. Howard County is a great place to live.
